Meetings are like money. It knows no evil nor it knows no good. It can do great harm or it can be used to benefit many. However, it’s common place to find it within organizational cultures that vilify meetings.
If meetings aren’t evil, then what gives meetings the bad wrap? If a financial planner who manages your money and manages a negative return, what do you think about the financial planner? If you get old and realize you never saved any money for retirement, who’s fault is that? If a person manages money for a money laundering, what do you think about the person?
Money gets its reputation from the person managing it. Maybe meetings suck because of how you manage meetings.
